Flu shots are already available, apparently

Tuesday, August 13, 2019

Got a weird e-mail last week, inviting me to sign a letter to be a back up on a project in case other people drop out. Kind of strange, but...sure, whatever, there's a possibility of a short work thing, why not. Having assented to that, I get the compliance requirements, with a hint that people who get the paperwork in earliest will be higher on the backup list. Ok, then, what do I have to do? I just worked for these guys a couple of months ago (they were the company I got the Canada contract through), so they have my drug test and background check, so I should be in decent shape, right? Oh, what's this? A proof of a flu shot is needed? Is that even out yet for the upcoming winter?

Apparently, it is. I called my doctor's office first and was told that it would be available there in mid-september. Out of curiosity, I tried CVS Pharmacy, and was told they already had it, just walk on in whenever, and get it taken care of.

Well, alrighty then. Guess I'll go get a flu shot sometime this week. Maybe today, even. Not particularly looking forward to it, I always get a sore shoulder and neck out of a flu shot, so that's no fun. But hey, I'll have it taken care of and out of the way in advance and totally be protected from the September flu!

But first, this time for real, I'm going to the gym.

Hmmmm....maybe I will do that soon, too.
The shot, not the gym, as I am going over to my sister’s pool soon.

Would your assignment be in a hospital environment? If yes, that makes sense. Does seem a bit early, though. Good luck.
