The Forgotten Quilt
Monday, August 12, 2019
Yesterday I was visiting my son Sam and his family when I saw an old quilt that I had forgotten about. My mother sewed the squares together and I added the backing and edging to it.
Some of the squares needed help with “squareness”, but it was sewn with love by my mom when she was in her early 90’s. Shiloh Rose loves her little quilt, and I am proud of my mom for the many gifts of love that she has made. I had completely forgotten about this little baby quilt, but Shiloh has loved it for the past 3 years.
A gift given with love is never wasted. Without keeping track of them, I forget some of the projects. “Never forget what is worth remembering, nor ever remember what is worth forgetting.”
I'm happy for the reminder.
