Starting Day 35 (Day 21 of Keto)
Sunday, August 11, 2019
So 35 days ago, I finally stopped listening to my excuses on why I couldn't put a little bit more effort into myself. There was no reason that I couldn't focus on myself a little bit more than I was. My mood was terrible, my stress level was terrible, my weight and self esteem was terrible, and I was over it!
I decided to see how my blood sugar was because I have PCOS and am insulin resistant. (My doctor had told me years ago that I could become Diabetic because I was borderline already). I just pushed that aside and continued what I wanted to do. Well once Summer started this year, I seemed to be having blood sugar related issues. I got a Blood Sugar meter and started checking my blood in the morning. After not eating all night, it was seemed to stay at a higher level for a morning result.
I decided I needed to get that under control because I didn't want to get Diabetes! I started a lower carb (75 grams) and lower calorie food plan because I knew I couldn't cut carbs out completely right away. After the first week I had lost 5 lbs. I did another week and didn't lose as much (maybe 1/2 lb).
Since I was tracking all my food, I noticed that the extra carbs I was eating, I could easily not eat. I think decided to go more Keto Low and started a food plan of 30 grams of carbs.
I think I have been doing really well on it for the most part. Today is the end of my 3rd week. All together I have lost 12.4 lbs (7.4 being on Keto). I haven't been able to check my blood sugar (my dogs ate my meter! What weirdos! I need to buy a new one.) but I have noticed some of the blood sugar issues I was having, haven't happened since the lower carb eating.
I do have to say I thought I would lose more but I had taking my measurements a couple weeks ago and the difference in just one week was amazing! So I am just using the scale as a guide but will focus more on the measurements.
I will post a blog next Saturday which will be my first Before and During Measurements. I haven't measured myself again since that last time so I am excited to see if there is still a difference. My clothes feel looser and I "feel" better most days so I hope the numbers show that.
I had done some exercises but right now am doing a 30 Day Challenge with my Aunt (Squats, Planks, Pushups, and Crunches). Once that is over (end of August) I will focus on other things to do.
Thank you for reading! Have a great week!
