Being Honest with Myself

This is my 6th day on Sparkpeople and my 3rd day of the 28 day Challenge. Today I read about the benefits of blogging. "By taking the time to write out your thoughts, the events, and emotions, you may find a solution to a problem that would otherwise leave you holding a bag of cookies." So I thought I'd give it a try because my track record of following through with things like this is not good.

I tend to have the best of intentions. I make big plans but then I suck at follow through. I've tracked my meals and exercise before but I've often lied on my tracking. It's crazy! I know what I've done and no one else cares so I'm only screwing myself by making the numbers online look good. I've promised myself that I will be honest this time and track everything just as it happens.

So far I've tracked 5 days and I have been honest about what I've eaten and the exercise I've done. I'm doing as suggested so I haven't tried to change my eating habits so that I can get a clear view of where the majority of my calories are coming from. It's working, I can see that when I eat restaurant food the calorie count is way higher than when I cook at home.

So I'm going to start writing a bit in this blog daily as well. I'm writing this to and for myself so I can be completely honest about everything. You can do better this time around! You will do better this time around! You will be honest when tracking meals and exercise. There's no reason to leave things out. You will learn to eat better and exercise regularly. This time is different. Remember that you don't have to be afraid to go slowly, you just have to be afraid of standing still.
