Change of plan

I was thinking I'd go out to Belle Isle today, a state park on an island in the Detroit River, but it turns out the aquarium and the museum aren't open on Mondays, so, never mind.
Due to elbow, didn't go play pickleball in the morning, so I totally slept in. Because I wasn't planning to go play in the morning, I totally stayed up late, reading a book, the title of which I'm not even sure of, because it's on Kindle on my phone, but it was entertaining enough to keep me up until 230 AM. One of those Amazon First Reads books that I keep grabbing as a perk from my Prime membership, finally actually diving into the pile of electronic files gathering dust over there in the corner of the internet..
I did overstate things when I referred to pickleball as "the thing keeping me sane", but at the very least, getting up in the morning to go exercise, and going to sleep at reasonable hours at night, as opposed to my natural night owl tendencies, well, that's probably a good thing. Getting up and eating breakfast prior to going to sweat in the summer sun, that's a good thing, too. So not having that excuse to get me to fall asleep at night so I can get up in the morning, that's a less good thing.
Instead of going to Detroit, I'm going grocery shopping. I've eaten lunch just now, so I'm not going in hungry. Doesn't guarantee that I won't emerge from there having grabbed some sort of snack item that I could just as well do without, but it betters the odds.
Might still go to Detroit later, I've been meaning to get to a Tigers game. As woeful as they are (worst record in the major leagues!), they're still my team. But there isn't nearly the urge to go spend a summer evening sitting in the old ballpark when you assume the outcome won't be fun. I have been listening to the radio broadcasts on more evenings than not, so I'm still invested, but I've fallen away from participating in the message board game threads like I used to. Not the only one, those game threads used to feature hundreds of comments when the team was decent, and are more often than not ghost towns these days.
Or maybe I'll wait until Wednesday, when the aquarium is open on Belle Isle. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
