Ten pounds down and an unpleasant discovery
Monday, August 05, 2019
I was right to trust my gut about weight fluctuations. I am OFFICIALLY down ten pounds and I think I might be able to tell but I could also be less "bloated" looking than normal so who knows. I have been enjoying wearing a pair of jeans that I normally don't wear because they aren't normally flattering 'feeling' but lately they have been really comfy. That might be a sign.
Now for the unpleasant discovery...I live in Guatemala, the land of eternal spring...and bugs. Last night, the cats were acting funny...and they wouldn't leave the bathroom. After a thorough investigation, I discovered their new fascination. It would appear that some type of cockroach nymph (I think) has figured out how to get inside the cracks in our cement walls. (Our house is all cement and this is a normal problem to have...but I'm creeped out by cockroaches. The tarantulas, I can deal with but the cockroaches need to go.) Today, I'm doing a probably unnecessary extra deep cleaning of the bathroom and we're going to caulk up all of the cracks around the shower where the nasty vermin were coming from.
Another note: this bathroom is set apart from the rest of the house and the bugs are likely just crawling around inside the exposed support column/wall below so I don't think the whole house in infested. It's just plain icky though.
Would love prayer that this missionary life would be a bit less buggy!!
