Great Start To The Week!

Sunday, August 04, 2019

Today was the start of the 100 Glute Challenge by Blogilates... and we are delaying a day. We had to first clean the basement, and that took a while, and we needed a break afterwards. So, about the time I went to get ready to start the challenge, the kids had early dinner. I know roast takes a while for me to digest, and I don't want them doing the challenge with full stomachs, or missing a day, so we will be starting a day behind the challenge. But we are still going to do it.

We also ended up not meal planning and just going grocery shopping. And I still don't know if the deep freeze works, DH has not gotten around to plugging it in yet. So I'll work on that tomorrow and find good freezer recipes that are paleo friendly (if the deep freeze works, if not, it will be a while, at least a month, before we can get a new one). We'll have to start that next time we meal plan. We do that about every two weeks. I did grab some almond butter, and it is so yummy with apple! I got some chicken to cook for myself, but the kids put it in the freezer, so when I went to cook it today, I could not.

But, we did get the basement mostly clean, and sanitized. It will take several more go-overs with the mop and and scrubber to get everything up and clean, but hot soapy water has been over every inch that it possibly could. I love my mop, it has detachable heads that you can toss in the wash, so you don't end up with a filthy mop head. I bought 6 extra mop heads, so we had plenty to work with (no, we didn't need all of them, LOL!). I told the kids no dogs in the basement when it is just them, since they don't listen to the dogs when they ring the bells on the door.

So, since the kids got out of the 100 Glute Challenge, they will be turning off electronics an hour early and cleaning in the craft area tonight, as well as their rooms and their bathroom. Turns out that in cleaning their own rooms (not that they are clean, mind you), they have been tossing stuff that belongs to them into other rooms, my craft area being one of them. Since I plan on going through that room and getting it completely organized (as much as a craft area can be) I need their stuff gone, and I don't want to just throw it in their rooms, especially since some of it may be donate stuff or belong to either of them.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I'm looking forward to starting my new routine and getting one day closer to achieving my goals. They seem so far off, but as long as I look at my next step and not the top of the mountain, as long as I have short term and medium term goals to look forward to, I don't get overwhelmed. And as long as I don't listen to negative people.

Aunt G was very insistent on telling me how very long it would be before I would be able to make anything that be very good... this from the woman who wanted me to make a dress for myself for the first project she was going to teach me how to make. I've managed to shake the negative effects of her comments and have decided to keep from talking about sewing to her. DH would prefer I not be around her at all, she is very self-absorbed and very negative, but she has been alone her whole life, and is very set in her ways and has managed to alienate everyone in her family. I'm not related except my marriage, but she insist that I'm more family than any she has, and that makes me feel like I can't just stop calling and occasionally hanging out with her. I know she is lonely. She just does not have a mental filter.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to an early bed, an early morning, and productive day!

I hope you all have a great day and wonderful start to your week!

I think it's great that you manage to be so kind to a woman who has alienated so many people; I'm glad for your caring and tenacious spirit! As long as you don't allow her to wear you out, of course. Here's to what you're looking toward: an early bed, an early morning, and a productive day! :-)

That's neat! I was thinking of delaying the challenge workouts a day too...simply because with the time zone differences between CA and here and when she posts the next day's WO videos, if I ever want to do the challenge along with the videos, I need to do them the day after they are published to get to view them when I'm available to workout.
