I've been super lax with the kids, knowing that schedules will be harder, they won't get ast much 'free' time and so on. I've been letting my youngest go to the entertainment room in the basement (which is also where the exercise room is) as long as she lets the dogs out if they ring the bell and mostly only take our small dog down there (my Golden likes to chew everything and they leave electronics out, so I don't want her chewing something expensive). There is a set of bells on the door going down to the basement and a set of bells on the basement door going outside to the back yard. I've not been looking, but I have not smelled any mess and it's usually dark in the exercise room when I take the dogs out. I play fetch with Hope in the back yard, and am usually concentrating on the dogs. Well, today is the day set aside to clean the entire basement for the upcoming 100 Glute Challenge by Blogilates. So I turned on the light in the exercise room to see how much work we have to do.... I don't think the kids have been taking the dogs out except when I remind them or when I do it myself!! There are at least 4 pee areas and 1 pile of poop! I'm so upset! I had that room mostly clean, and now it is a bio-hazard!! So, lots of cleaning and sanitizing to do today. I wanted to get the craft area done today to, because I went to clean it yesterday and found that the kids have been throwing their unwanted things in the craft area, not even in boxes, or the one that is in a box the box is broken and only look like it is still together. I'm so upset! So, no more letting the kids just do whatever they want and play for hours on the x-box or laptop. Today, we clean. And we will not stop till it is done. We will take breaks every hour or so, but not for electronics. The exercise room and entertainment room take priority (we also work out in the entertainment room, it has more room for stretching and and yoga) and will only get to the craft area if there is time, otherwise it will wait till Sunday.
I was getting my kids up earlier each week and sometimes every few days, to get them used to getting up early enough to get ready for the bus. This year they surprised me by not taking anywhere near as long to get ready on the first day of school, so I hopefully won't have to get them up as early. My oldest, I might, she takes forever to wake up and walks around in a daze for a while before she is awake enough to actually do anything on the morning routine list. Though thanks to the Before Bed Routine, a lot is done for them before they get up in the morning. I am hoping things will run smoother this year.
Oh my, I may go back to bed
I can tell Hope wants to go back to bed, she is on the floor by the front door and grumbling at me, LOL. And my eyes are starting to close. I didn't sleep so well last night, or the last couple of nights. Sometimes getting up for a little while and getting some energy out helps me to fall back asleep.
Today will be super busy, have to meal plan and then go grocery shopping on top of all of the cleaning I want to get done. The craft area may have to wait till Sunday after church. I'm also thinking of moving our planning day to Saturday so that we can get grocery shopping done after meal planning and also use Sunday as a meal prep day for cutting veggies and bagging portions in advance. I'm going to see if our deep freeze still works (it's been a while since it was plugged in, so who knows!) I'm hoping it does because we were so used to having a deep freeze and only having our tiny freezer in the house is driving me crazy! The kids love fresh cookies and such and I would love to be able to make cookie dough or pies and freeze them and then bake them when needed. I also want to get into freezer meals for the crock pot, make the meals on Sunday, throw it in the crock pot on the day that we are going to have it, easy peasy!
yeah, going back to bed. Saturday, so I can afford to go back to sleep. And poor Hope is snoring by the door, I can tell she wants to go back to bed and get out of the light too.
Have a great Saturday, and hopefully a productive one here!!
