I've been playing pickleball pretty regularly the last three weeks, only missing out on one or two days in that stretch. As mentioned a couple of days ago, it hasn't made a dent in the weight. On the other side, until Saturday, I hadn't really had any physical issues with the regular play, either, a very welcome thing given how much trouble my feet and knees were giving me over the winter.
Suppose it was too good to last. My big toe on the left for started hurting while playing Saturday. Playing again on Sunday probably didn't help. So I did more or less absolutely nothing today. It feels fine, even without resorting to taking an Advil like I did Sunday.
One of the better players I play with just texted to ask if I wanted to join a "good group" tomorrow. I'll probably go, if only to get a shot at better players. Kind of at that point where I'm in the higher end of the group I usually play with, wondering if I could get better if I had to figure out how to beat stiffer competition.
See how the toe feels tomorrow, I guess. All in all, it's a relatively minor complaint, compared to the physical ailments from, not just the winter, but last summer's elbow pains, too. So I'm not sweating it.
