Daily Highlight 146 - Local Farms
Friday, July 26, 2019
About the only thing I like about summertime is fresh local produce. Whether hitting up the farmer's markets, a farm stand, or pick your own, the taste cannot be beat. Strolling through a Farmer Market you can find new farms, new produce, new tastes.
~Gott Farm in Glastonbury posts the variety of corn that was just picked.
~A farm in Columbia has the best cauliflower I have ever tasted.
~Rose's Pick Your Own tells you the kind of blueberry you are picking.
~Sweet Pea in North Granby has the best goat cheese. (It is favored by high end restaurants.)
(I know, cheese isn't produce.)
Yes, I do have my favorites and there are so many more. Each farm seems to have a specialty and I do like to support local farmers. The taste is something to be treasured and savored.
For local farms.
