The Finish Line is Just the Beginning

This was the image on the SP wall today and it brought upon some reflection for me... I thought I'd share:
#GoalSetting never stops.
I mentally prepared myself for this surgery that happened on June 17th but physically not being able to do stuff really affected me more than I ever thought it would. Being restricted in what I could do brought in anxiety and feelings of depression and guilt - so I withdrew a bit. Not having my usual energy and feeling low was really hard given I'm the kind of person who overcame major depression in the past... being drawn back in was a bit of a blow. I felt off course in so many ways.
But that's part of life. Every lesson, twist, turn and wave is there to teach us something. When one finish line comes - there's another one to strive for.
One of the KEY lessons this experience has given me was about how setting healthy boundaries is so important as much as setting priorities for what matters most.
I recognized that I needed to focus on my recovery and the Finish Line for this happens when I see my doctor next week to hopefully get good news that all is well and I can come back to my role of Health/Wellness coach who walks the talk with daily physical activity all the while acknowledging that I need to be mindful of my time and listen to my body.
So for every goal - there's a finish line... which leads the way to NEW beginnings! Learning never stops and beginnings never end! Keep going! #NeverGiveUp #Depression #Anxiety #OvercomingDifficulties #Recovery #Healthy4LifewithHelene
