Maintenance takes an edge

Monday, July 15, 2019

A couple days ago I was pleased to find myself below 160#. Marginally below. But below. Fine. Then, my weekly weigh-in is Sunday morning, and I was still below 160#. That's good, and I intend to still be below 160 next Sunday.

Sundays are major maintenance days, but also involve attending church and, within in that activity, attending a number of meetings, seminars, the like. All of them offer food because they span typical lunch time. I't s hard for me to not eat during the sometimes less than engaging presentations, but I work at portion control. Then in the evening, with my wife, dinner is another portion control event. Dessert may follow. Snacking often follows, with predictable results.

But yesterday I was comfortable forbearing extra food and, today, find my weigh-in is STILL under 160. This is something to celebrate emoticon and now that I've patted myself on the back and done some stretching, it's off to breakfast and a busy day.

What's particularly important, however, is that I'm motivated, now, to maintain this landmark. And I know that weight fluctuates day to day. But I've set myself the goal of remaining under 160 for each day of the week, and indefinitely after. That gives maintenance an edge it did not have last week. emoticon

Sundays are a major maintenance day for me too. Have been for nearly 6 years and continues to serve me well. I use it as a day to reflect upon the past week, evaluate what's working and what's not and decide how to move forward.

Congratulations on your progress and keep up the good work! Yes. You CAN and you ARE doing it! emoticon emoticon

This is something to celebrate! emoticon
