Daily Highlight 134 - Kids Planning Meals.

Highlight -
Sat down with my grands to ask what are their favorite foods. Now I have a nutritious menu for the week we will be with them. Even though the eldest is only seven, getting the kids involved in planning meals, I feel, makes a difference, the planning and preparing. It is fun and they own it. The three year old was so excited when telling me her favorite foods. Her face lit up telling me about cauliflower. Who knew!
They do have a great mom and dad.

Grateful -
Spending time with the grands.

Cheers to a grand time...with your precious people. Time spent creating in the kitchen is a favorite of ours. Cracking eggs, preparing pans, whisking...just fun. I also asked our grands their dislikes, hilarious and eye opening. Honestly, eat as they do for the week. They eat when hungry, stop when full, and spend zero time thinking about food. We can learn a ton from them. Have the best time.

Excellent strategy! My kids LOVED helping me plan menus and cook when they were little.

O man, I am flooded with memories of my paternal grandma doing the same. My fav of hers was potato soup and what I called graham cracker pudding. I can see them both in my minds eye, some 65+/- years later.
