July 13th~Mow the day away

Sunday, July 14, 2019

Up and out early this AM..so early I almost expected my neighbors to call and ask me to shut the mower down! But that did not happen and I happily mowed until I needed to put gas in the machine. Then it wouldn't start for me. At that point I put on my gloves and began to yank the weeds along the edges.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a small bush starting to come back after looking very dismal and the raspberry I moved is sprouting new leaves. Our soil here is so bad and loaded with shale rock , thus my philosophy of ,,if it will grow ..let it go!!
I have nice stand of Hollyhocks in various colors that I love. Lots of sweet memories of making Hollyhock dolls and putting them on hats ..so many things you can do with them. Now I just admire them and let them grow and multiply.
Skinner and I did not get in our walk ..it got too hot too fast this AM. I am a wimp I guess but once the temp gets over 80 I am done! So by 9ish I had no desire to do much outside.
Gene came over to finish the mowing and even he who is usually a heat loving person was panting and gulping water , plus had a dripping wet rag around his neck..wet with cool water!!
We finished up and called it a day by 10.
So I plan on the same tomorrow as the pups yard needs mowed. Then it will be as it should for a bit.
First week of the 5% Challenge is in..time sure seems to go a bit faster than it did when I was younger. Of course I had to laugh when Gene commented...half the year gone already where does the time go? My son is sounding a lot like me!!
Wrapping up a few duties for the team..
Then let the dogs out and in..

Nite ya'al ..have a beautiful Sunday!
