I've been looking at recipes for homemade beauty products over the last couple of days. All of them claim to include 'things you have in your store cupboard anyway'. Really? Not in my store cupboard. One thing that came up over and over again was coconut oil. No I don't have any. In fact I've never had any despite having a more varied and adventurous store cupboard than most people [in the UK at least]. And as it's quite expensive I'm not in a position to buy some at the moment.
Sally is surrounded by a number of churches and community homes. They frequently have clear outs and it has to be said, she's quick off the mark to spot useful things. She arrived here today with yet more 'finds'. Some lovely books we thought would be good for a local charity shop, plus a couple we thought would be suitable for particular friends. Some extra virgin olive oil that Sally felt she could make use of and would you believe it - some organic, cold pressed, unrefined, coconut oil?
I'd say there is a little over a kg left in the container. Use by date is 18/03/21 so plenty of time left. I'd probably be a little wary not entirely knowing the provenance if it was something I planned to eat but I'm totally happy to experiment with it as an ingredient in beauty/skin care products. It really is astonishing what she pitches up with at times. As though she'd read my mind. Or more than that actually as I hadn't seen/spoken to her since reading the recipes for homemade beauty products. Sally wasn't surprised at all. "Things just manifest through me and always have" she told me. I'm a little bit blown away by how often similar things happen with her. Not quite sure how it works but I figure everyone could do with a Sally in their life. Fingers crossed you have one in your life too.
