Watching Sugar Day #4

Saturday, July 13, 2019

My daughter and I did about 10,000 steps when we went to the mall on Thursday. I promised that I would take her clothes shopping for her birthday (it was a month ago). We found some very high end tops for her to wear for work and,,,,they were on sale! That’s the only way we can afford to buy the really nice clothes. They must have been the last items in stock because they were at a significant discount! She will be a fashion plate at work!

Doing so many steps in a day came at a price for me. My spine and hand were super sore afterwards. I ended up eating a bunch of sweets in an effort to medicate myself. The sugar did nothing but make me crave more sugar and in fact increased inflammation. Today, I’m still struggling with wanting sweets but by tomorrow I should be finished with the sugar cravings. I will definitely have completed day #4 without sweets/sugar.

You might notice that I didn’t say that I was starting over. I am simply continuing on with my quest to limit my sugar after a bump in the road. This change in perception is a big deal for me. I am not starting over, I am continuing! So this is Day 4 not day #1.

The shift in perspective is significant. That's right. Bump in the road. Onward!

YES YES YES! What an important message you give out! YOu're NOT starting over, cut CONTINUING on your quest. That's fabulous. It gives you credit for what you've accomplished and learned, and you deserve that.
