25 Pounds Down
Saturday, July 13, 2019
I am 25 pounds down from my highest weight. It has taken me only 10 years to lose this much. . . but I am finding what works for ME. Inflammation and autoimmune issues have been my biggest hurdle.
What is working for me:
I have been at a step goal streak of 6500 steps minimum for about a year and a half now.
I have figured out that my optimum calorie intake is between 1500 and 1700 calories a day - less than what Sparkpeople and Fitbit tell me to eat.
I have upped my magnesium intake to 800 mg a day. This has stopped the constant excruciating muscle cramps that left me feeling like I was auditioning for The Exorcist. I am not sure why, but this also is the only thing that got me losing again after a plateau of six months (despite staying with the step and calorie goals).
I have gone from A1Cs that had me "diabetic", to being "pre-diabetic". Despite this freaking out my allopathic doctor (who somehow wants me to stay diabetic because that is what 'the literature' says is 'good'), I am continuing to work on my bloodsugars. I have not had one hypoglycemic incident so I think that my doctor's fears are overblown.
I have discovered Katy Bowman blogs on how to align your body for it's best function. I am doing daily stretches and exercises that have helped a lot.
77 pounds to go. I can do this!
