Something I Never Do, But I Did

I know there are people who have struggles with raiding the fridge in the middle of the night, but fortunately I don’t ... if I can’t get to sleep I rarely eat get up to eat something, although I DO get up if sleep eludes me. I NEVER sleep snack... at least I don’t think so!

BUT Last night, as hard as I tried, I couldn’t fall asleep, so I got up and took care of some things on my To Do list, and ...

THEN SUDDENLY IT HIT ME! I was hungry! I hadn’t been hungry at dinner time and so had not really eaten.... my calories were WAY low on my tracker, so of course it made sense that by 2am I wasn't imagining hunger, but really experiencing it!

The ideal snack was available... I heated a whole wheat Flat Out flatbread in the microwave, with a half pat of butter, rolled it up just like a hot tortilla, and assuaged the hunger inside me... Flat Out has 90 calories, 9g of protein and 9g of fiber... and sure enough! Within 20 minutes I wasn’t hungry at all and was able to fall right asleep.. (I mean, it WAS after 2am by then!)

So glad that I had the FlatOut flat bread on hand, and that I knew to eat the reasonable serving and then wait the 20 minutes... my body will send me messages if I will just be listening to it!
