Timing is everything today..

I did go get my hair done and took Buck with me. Sooner or later he will begin to not be so afraid of other people. So off we went to town, stopped at the store for my couple of things because it wasn't too bad yet and then we sort of hung around until it was half hour before my vet appt. I was early but they got me in pretty quickly and Buck got his shots and a good going over. He seems to be just fine and is about the age they said he was. So we headed home before it was time for out appt. even. But the sky was a funny color to the west of us. So I tried to carry everything into the house in one trip because it looked bad.

It was bad. Withing 10 min. of my walking in the door the skies opened up along with hail and really bad wind. This lasted for about an hour. In the mean time power went out so my day was sort of shot. Once the storm passed thru I noticed the sounds of big trucks and lots of chain saws. So looking out the door I saw a huge tree down at the end of the block and 2 down in my neighbors yard. Mine was littered with branches. All afternoon people worked at cleaning up the mess the storm made. Making sure roofs were OK and everything. I even went out in put the branches in my front yard on the curb. Someone driving by picked them up. I'll have to do the back yard tomorrow. My asthma was not happy I was out lifting and walking around in the humidity the storm brought.

It was not a very productive day. I did finish a simple quilt top and got the laundry dry I washed this morning but that's about it. The power has been spotty all afternoon but seems back on good this evening.

Thank fulls
1. I was home and safe in my house before the storm cell hit. It was not forecast.
2. Buck is healthy but his shots, and flea meds and the heart worm stuff was expensive.
3. All 3 of my trees are still standing.

The weather people said more storms like that could pop up over the next couple of days because of the heat. At least I'm home with enough of everything to stay here for a bit. Tomorrow my plan is to finish the last 2 tops and the 4 blocks left of the window pane hanging. Then on Sun. I can get the quilts pinned together and get started on the quilting. My mother would say my eyes are bigger than my stomach. But I'm trying not to listen to her anymore.
