Day 2 and in NE.
Thursday, July 11, 2019
Friends came over to wish us safe travels and see our camper. We then left for a very relaxing final leg of our trip. Arrived at our campground in Weeping Water, NE and it's was hot. Not only that but the truck's battery light started flashing on and off about 12 miles out. Got in and parked. Told DH to we needed to unhook and pull forward before shutting the truck off which we did. He then told me to restart the truck. Nope! Think the battery is bad. Notified my brother here and he came out from work. They went to find a battery and an attachment for a terminal. Truck started. Then died. Called our son and chatted about fuses. We don't carry the but one which could be the problem. DH will be calling our mechanic at home for some suggestions. We can't keep my brother running for us when he's working and also getting things to his DIL for the BD party for his wife. So we are sitting here relaxing, in the heat, with A/C on and tons of flies. Tomorrow will be an interesting day of investigations as to the cause of the "breakdown". More thrilling mystery being held back until tomorrow and/or Sat.
My only concern (beside the truck) is we have water and electric but no sewer. Hoping we can outlast the tank until we have our truck to take the camper to the dump station. AND heat is building as well as the humidity. 95 could be reached by Sun. or Mon.
