New Health Challenge
Thursday, July 11, 2019
I was chosen (not sure how) for a local health challenge that is sponsored by American Heart Association, Missouri Beef Council and a local hospital. I feel very fortunate to have been selected for this. There are 12 of us in the group and we meet once a week for support, education, exercise, nutrition and various activities. We are also blessed with a gym membership for the duration of the program; meeting with a dietitian and physician who will go over our labs that were drawn.
My health goals were put on the back burner (once again) after I let too many other things get in the way of ME. I am going to remedy this by setting aside a minimum of one hour per day for ME. This really isn't that much if you look at the big picture: there are 24 hours in a day so one hour is only 4% of one day. I should spend 1/3 of my day sleeping but realistically, I'm lucky if I sleep 25% of my day. I'm working on trying to go to bed earlier but sometimes, I just can't shut everything off to go to sleep.
I've been MIA on this site for several months and it shows. My weight has crept back up and I found out that a dear SP friend lost her husband, which saddens me so much! Life is short and we must make sure that our days are spent taking care of what's important and spending time with those who matter most!
Love you all!!! Have a great day!
