The hazards of walking

Tuesday, July 09, 2019

I fell. I decided to walk briskly to the next station instead of waiting at the nearest one. I felt pretty good about my decision. I did not run, nor was it is a ‘power walk’, but it was a quick pace. I walked past 2 guys and then, I don’t know how exactly it happened, but I side stepped, and fell. Pretty badly. Nothing broken, but I have a huge scrap on my leg (7X3 I’d say), my thumb is sore (I have no idea why) and my hip is pretty blue. I must have looked ridiculous! I fell, then the two guys simply asked me if I was ok, but they didn’t helped me to get up. At my size, I couldn’t have done this gracefully. The shame, in front of everyone. Anyway now, the scrap keeps bleeding. I keep washing it with disinfectant and it is still pretty raw. I’ll wait until it doesn’t bleed anymore before posting pictures. So I don’t think I will go to the pool tomorrow. Although it would keep the scrap clean.

Positive day in terms of food though. I was still hungry in the morning around 10:30, but I drank a lot of water, which made me get off my desk a lot, etc. I also had a huge lunch packed with vegetables. I had a snack and then my evening meal: homemade pizza! I prepared the dough during the weekend and froze it in individual sections. I also divided the cheese in specific 1oz sections, so when I arrive in the evening, I don’t have much to do. So other than falling on the sidewalk like a toddler or a drunk at 2am, I’m ok. My leg is not though... it hurts.
