I have 5 minutes...

Tuesday, July 09, 2019

Maybe even 6 and a half minutes if no one is watching. I'm playing hooky from our workplace Monthly Birthday Bash. Since my problems with a coworker, I'm being generally antisocial and taking a break on my own. Taking care of numero uno, like it ought to be.

I've managed to get back on track with cutting back snacks. Hopefully, eventually I will barely snack at all. But I have cut back drastically. Yesterday was True Confessions with the cashews addiction and eating while I cook. I am stopping those. Putting the info out there was a way to make them more real to myself.

I used to take 1/4 cup of mixed nuts for a morning snack. Sometimes also 2 crackers and a tablespoon of almond butter. What was I thinking? Now I have just 2 tablespoons of walnuts as my morning snack. I eat breakfast at 6 am, and lunch at 12:30, so I thought I needed 2 snacks. I started bringing a bag of raw veggies and eating them instead, and now I am used to just the one snack. Sometimes I have an apple, too. A small apple.

I am having a Vega chocolate shake as an afternoon snack because it helps energize me and get me through the evening. That way I can just have raw veggies late in the afternoon if I get hungry and not want to eat everything in sight. DH does not get home until 7, and we eat later, so I need to fortify myself against the snack temptation. I have to review the calories of this shake again and maybe cut down on the size.

DH is in Ohio (we live in NY) on a business trip. So I am on my own this week. Feels strange being on my own. Not as much cooking, though. I had my Eggless Tofu Egg Salad a couple of times for lunch and dinner.

Well, 5 minutes extended itself to 10 or 12 minutes, but they are all in there, still eating cake. Bon appetit, I say, or to quote Marie Antoinette, "Let THEM eat cake!" (My emphasis on THEM).

Tonight, I am going to do some Spark exercise, and maybe even walk. Have a lovely evening, Spark Friends!

    Let them eat cake, indeed!

I try to eat until I'm not totally full (Hari Hashi Boo!) but reallly ARE full. Then later, if I am peckish, I have a little more of my healthy meal. That's the ideal, anyway, haha!

Oh, I am with you 100%. I cannot snack very well but if I do, I am with you, I eat a small apple I love those it is a treat. The plan I love to follow and I do the best with only allows three walnut halves in the morning. I can definitely get carried away with nuts. They taste so good OK got a run

OH you are doing well! That's awesome that you just made yourself a priority and played hooky from the birthday bash. Good job.
