First Day of W.W.F (Warm Water Fitness)

Tuesday, July 02, 2019

Today was the first day of going to the recreational center for water fitness. I must admit that during the morning, with a lot going on, I was toying with postponing it until Thursday. Which I came to find out ( even though I was told there was a class Thursday, July 4) that the rec closes at 1:30-so no class.

I enjoyed it. It as a fairly large group, men (2) and women ages 55+. Probably about 12 in all. The original instructor was out, so there was a sub, but she was very good.

The workout was very good for me, for the first time. Another exercise I like besides walking. Also I found out some things I need to work on:

1. Balance. I thought I would be able to balance better in water than on land, no go. My left leg seems to be a little bit stronger than my right. Not sure why.

2. When we were using the boards, I stretched my legs up and back, and felt like the back of my legs were starting to cramp. We did do warm ups, so I'm not sure why that happened.

3. I seemed to do ok with arms, but seemed to get tired after so many reps.

But I really did enjoy it. People were very friendly. I plan on going back next Tuesday for the next class and maybe the instructor will be there. I was told he gives a really good workout. The class meets twice a week, so I am putting it on my calendar.

When I was younger, I had taken swimming, didn't mind it. But for some reason now, I don't like it. Maybe I just don't like it when the pool is crowded. I don't like being in crowds and I don't like water splashed in my face. Wow, what a change from when I was younger. But I am in the water, and out meeting new people. Pretty good for a gal who grew up shy and a loner. emoticon
