Half gone - half ahead

It's July 1st. The Independence Day holiday is ahead. My weight has stuck stubbornly at about 160 pounds since Christmas. My efforts to reach 155 or 150 have not been successful, nor intense. Good news - I eat pretty well. Bad news - I eat a bit too much. There is also an exercise component to weight, but I do feel the eating component vastly outweighs the exercise part.
So what can I do if I want to weight a bit less and, presumably, enjoy related health benefits? I'm sure there are lots of suggestions out in Sparkland, but my sense is that more attention to portion control, and a relying a bit more on plant origin foods will do the trick.
That and recognizing stress for what it is, and being mindful of stressful situations.
Next: some measurable, achievable, and meaningful goals.
