Goals & Gratitude 6/26/19

I just wanted to let everyone know that I made it home safe and sound from Washington, D.C. this evening. I spent the whole day traveling, but I am just glad to be home. I am not afraid to fly but I had a little anxiety in the air today during my flight from D.C. to Phoenix, AZ. Remember the beginning of the show "Lost" where the top of the plane comes off? Yeah, I should have never watched that! Every time I fly now I think of that scene. I knew I just needed to distract myself so I turned on a new audiobook on my phone and that made me feel better and I wasn't so anxious by the time we landed. My second flight was a short one of just over an hour from Arizona to California, so my anxiety was fine. I think it also helped that I was by the window this time and could look down over the mountains. Ah, to be on the ground again!

I have much to report on my trip and some pictures to post, but it will have to wait until tomorrow. It is now 9:30 pm, but to me it feels like 12:30 am as I am still on East Coast time. I hope I sleep well tonight!

I calculated that I walked 33.6 miles over 5 days in D.C., including 10.3 miles on my last full day. I hit 23,000 steps that day which is a first for me. My feet are very sore and I have some little blisters. I'm planning on buying new tennis shoes this weekend as I think my old ones are done!

Tomorrow's Goals:
1) Hit the gym.
2) Go to my two afternoon appointments.
3) Read three chapters for my two classes.

Today I'm Grateful For...
1) Good pilots.
2) Quality airport food. I got hummus with pita bread at a Lebanese restaurant at the D.C. airport and ate that on my flight.
3) That my cats are thrilled to see me. Tang practically followed me into the shower tonight as he didn't want to be away from me!
