Riding out the storm

Tuesday, June 25, 2019

June 25, 2019 Good morning friends you remember that glorious Sunrise from Sunday, yeah well, that didn't happen yesterday instead we awoke to gloomy skies. Rainy weather with the threat of potential storms, much cooler than the day before. But we got up a for breakfast and headed to the marina where were supposed to take a fishing trip on a party boat. The closer we got the worse the weather became. When we arrived the wind was whipping and it's pouring rain and lightning flashed in the sky and I looked at my husband and said I love you but not that much I ain't doing it. He went inside then came back out and said do you want to cancel or you want to try to come back this afternoon we decided to try to go back in the afternoon. We headed back to our hotel he went to chill I went to the gym and worked out with some free weights, then did 30 minutes on the stair climber, plus some shadow boxing and a stretching cool down. We then decided to explore the island and check it out. We also decided we needed rain gear and headed to Walmart. They only had one adult sized rain gear left so I decided on a whim to try on the youth small/medium and it fit! #nsv Lunch was a burger and at The Spot, skipped the bun, ate some fries and then back to the pier for our second attempt at the fishing trip. You can see skies clearing in the distance and the rain had tapered off to a drizzle, more of annoyance than anything, and we set off on our trip. Water was choppy as the wind was creating 3 foot swells, we bounced around a new little rain coat worked out well protecting me from the elements...until a big rush of water came from the deck above and landed on me..the men around me stood frozen, unsure how to react until I burst into laughter...and then we all had a laugh together... The rain stopped. The sun broke through, the seas calmed a little bit and we fished...not much luck only a handful of people caught anything. Hubby snagged two baby sharks and a catfish...I helped reel in the one shark. We had so much fun.. After fishing we went backed to the hotel, got cleaned up and headed back out for a round of miniature golf..I beat him, but a child would've beaten us both! πŸ™ŠπŸ™‰πŸ™ˆ Dinner was brisket with a side salad and baked beans...turned out to be a fabulous day once the storms had passed. Have a fabulous day!
