Summer Fun

Monday, June 17, 2019

Kids are in half day Kids at College camp this week. Natalie is learning about 3D printing. Hope she'll share some of what she learns with me even if I don't have the machine. Gwen will do a bunch of crafts and some academics. They will be with me all day Friday and we are looking at a library-sponsored scavenger hunt. They have been enjoying swimming. I can add more pictures once I get home, but phone only takes one. I am waiting for physical therapist right now and really hope it helps this arm. My memory has seemed really bad this week. I left a kettle on stove and so glad we didn't have a fire. As much as my arm hurts I almost forgot this appointment. I had run this morning and was sitting around sweaty when I remembered and jumped in shower. Just made it by time of appointment. Now that I am waiting wish I had done my hair better. Oh, well. I think some meditation to reduce stress may help my memory and getting in the habit of checking my wall and phone calendars would help me, too. I am looking forward to my piano lesson tomorrow and playing with the kids. Hope you are having summer fun, too!

Now that's a summer fun pic to frame.
Just remember to breathe. I have to remind myself to breathe when in pain.

Gwen is certainly having fun! Don’t worry about being forgetful. Mike and I were talking about this the other day. The more stressed we get, the more preoccupied we are. I would guess that you are experiencing something similar. emoticon

Great photo! I would be lost without my calendar. I just have to remember to check it!! I hope the physiotherapy helps your shoulder. Lack of sleep and pain does distract you and hurts your memory -this is something I know very well. Hope you can get some sleep.

I find more and more that those calendars are essential to me, too. I have a routine, sure, but there is enogh variation, especially in Summer, to make the memory reminders :a good thing",

This week I have to remember, for example, to go check on my sister's cats while she visits her daughter. If I didn't put reminders on the calendar...

emoticon Pain will sap energy. Lack of energy impacts our memory. Are you getting enough sleep?

Take care! Wishing you the best with PT and have fun with the grandchildren and your upcoming piano lesson.
