June 15, 2019 A KIND HEART

This day in age it is truly hard to find a person with a kind heart. A kind heart is one that is the epitome of God. In God’s kindness, He has forgiven our sins. In God’s kindness, God has been patient with us. In God’s kindness, He has shown us love when we deserved punishment. God’s love, mercy and grace are all due to His kindness. When we choose to live like God showing forgiveness, patience, and love, we will be an example of kindness to others as well.

SCRIPTURE:
Ephesians 4:31-32 “Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write how you show kindness to others.
2. List what actions and words show you are kind.
3. Know God is the only right example of kindness.
4. Seek His will and His way today and every day.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we want to know what real kindness is. We want to have a kind heart and follow Your example of showing love, mercy and grace to others. We know a kind heart is what You want us to have. Help us to stop thinking about ourselves and start looking for ways to point others to You by showing them kindness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
God is so good that He continues to be kind to us despite our sin because He wants us to turn from sin and turn to Him.

Romans 2:4 “Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?” (NLT)

We are to keep kindness in our hearts so we continue to live as God has called us to live.

Proverbs 3:3 “Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart.” (NLT)

If we want to experience the kindness of God’s heart, we need to respect and worship Him.

FOCUS:
Psalm 103:11b “God’s wide, loving, kind heart is greater for those who revere Him.” (VOICE)
