Up .4 from yesterday but that is totally expected. We had lunch at Red Lobster and I ate all my favorites. I got the 4 course special - house salad with blue cheese dressing, clam chowder, shrimp linguini alfredo, and a chocolate brownie plus a happy hour margarita. I only ate 2/3 the linguini and brought the brownie home. The day ended up being over 2500 calories, almost twice what I normally have. It was yummy!

I got GS yesterday morning when my daughter's boyfriend went to work at 0430 and he's still here this morning. After lunch we dropped DD off at home so she could get some sleep (graveyard worker) and took GS home with us. I worked out in the yard for a few hours while he helped. About the time I expected his Dad to pick him up I get a text from DD that he's going to pick GS up and take him to his Mom's so he could go play video games with a buddy. I told her to leave him with me and don't worry about picking him up until she woke up. I would let her know if we had troubles. He had never stayed overnight with me but we did great. I had bought some modeling clay at the Dollar Tree earlier and I put some parchment paper down on the kitchen table and showed him how to use it. He played with that while I cleaned up the kitchen and then made a small dinner. He was pretty dirty from helping me outside so I put him in the tub and let him splash around for a while, then into clean clothes. By 9 I decided it was time for him to get to bed. He hadn't taken a nap and was getting cranky. He didn't complain at all, just crawled in. I texted his Mom to let her know and suggested she leave him unless he woke up before she left for work. It's a good think I kept him. His Dad didn't come home before DD went to work at 11:30. Yes, he's a selfish a**hole.

Your daughter is lucky to have you around to help. I'm glad you had a lot of fun with your grandson and it all went well.

ugh!! There's NOT a lot to be said since you are *there* observing his actions on a regular basis. You *see* what he does and...well, I'm sure you're sorry your DD doesn't *see* his REAL nature. He may be a "good time" but it seems he may not be interested in raising children. He is your GS's real daddy? Is he a young man cuz' maybe he's still too immature to take on that kind of responsibility. Sorry to hear how your DD has to work nights. I'm sure she is sooo GRATEFUL to have you near by!! You are a emoticon Super Hero grandmother, grandma, grammie, grams, granny, nana, meema, Grand-mère (French) Oma (German) etc., for that lil' darlin'. I KNOW he has many days of wonder and exploration, as well as a wholesome stability of routine in your care!! ::hugs::
