Thought and Prayer for Friday, June 14, 2019

Friday, June 14, 2019

There are so many reasons for troubled hearts. Worry can cause us to have troubled hearts. There is also sadness, sorrow, sickness, etc. We can choose to focus on our problems and be troubled about them or we can choose to focus on Jesus. When we focus on Jesus we will be reminded (from His word) that He can help us, heal us and give us peace. Let’s choose trust in Jesus over a troubled heart.

John 14:1 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.” (NLT)

1. Write what has troubled you lately.
2. List what others seem troubled about.
3. Remember to trust in God and let Him handle your troubles.
4. Remind others to trust in God as well and give their troubles to Him.

Dear Lord, we know there are going to be hard times in this world. We know we are sometimes overwhelmed with sorrow, sickness and sadness. We know we are sometimes troubled with worry from this world. Help us today, Lord, to stay focused on You and trust in You. We know when we take our minds off our troubles and let You take control, we will have peace. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we are troubled we can go to God for protection and peace.

Psalm 32:7 “You are my hiding place! You protect me from trouble, and you put songs in my heart because you have saved me.” (CEV)

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (NIV)

Psalm 25:17 “Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish.” (NIV)

God has a gift for us that will take away our troubles and give us peace. Let’s seek that gift from Him today.

John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (NLT)
