What's On Your Mind?

Wednesday, June 12, 2019

God’s Word says, “Love thinketh no evil.” Shortly after being born again and discovering the Bible as the only source of truth, I wrote on the front page of my personal Bible what God’s Word has to say about me. Having had a negative outlook and mindset for a large part of my former life, the Holy Spirit guided me to the Book of Philippians and other relevant Scripture to help me renew my mind (Romans 12:1-2). Here is an example of what I wrote to confess and profess and walk in (Romans 10:10).

“Cast down every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Remember not the former things, neither consider the things of old. I [LORD] will do a new thing. Now it shall spring forth (Upon speaking this line, I would literally jump out of bed. No more depression from the enemy against me.) For in Christ Jesus…a new creature. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things have passed away. Behold, I [God] make all things new.

God has reconciled me to himself by Jesus Christ (the Blood, Col. 1:20). Now God is able to do this new thing in me exceedingly, abundantly above all I could ask or think, according to the power that works in me (God’s Word and his Holy Spirit). I am renewed in the spirit of my mind. I put on the new man (regenerated in God’s image), which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. I will be kind, tenderhearted, and forgiving even as God has forgiven me (Eph. 4:23-24.)

Cast down every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God is attempting to make itself Head. NOW God has made Jesus HEAD over all things (Eph. 1:22). We know, we have the knowledge that Jesus is Head over all things. God’s Word reigns supreme and is superior (Head) to all, over all. Love fulfills the law.”

Our transformation, as well as our victories, begins with a renewed mind. If you are struggling in some area of your life, find out what God has to say about it and think on that, and then repeat it out of your mouth. You and God will be in perfect agreement! (Romans 10:9-10)

I have started replacing any negative thought that comes to mind with a POSITIVE ONE.

Neat! I did something similar. I made a Scripture T account (you know like the balance worksheets in accounting class). On the Left hand side of the T ledger, I wrote ALL of the things people said to me which were negative and nasty. You know like "you're stupid, i hate you, you are ugly, etc." On the right side I wrote the truth from the Word: Adopted into HIS family (even though rejected by "family"), you are beautifully and wonderfully made, created in HIS image, etc. The process and meditating on the truth of it is fabulous! Back then I used my shoe-box recorder to tape myself saying each truth to classical music and I used the tape to do my stretching/exercise routine and hear the truth (being transformed by the renewing of one's mind). Stopped by your blog because the verse reminded me of Shavuot / Pentecost Lev 23:11 and I was reminded by reading your verse today of the joy of getting to know HIS heart and mind thru what was given this time of year.
