Trying To Cut Back

Wednesday, June 12, 2019

So, after my weekend trip, I went up several pounds. So I have been trying to eat less to get those extra pounds off. This past weekend my husband and I went shopping for a car to pull behind our RV. We want to get a used Kia Soul, because it's small, and roomy inside. We don't want any car payments so we will be paying cash. We checked out several dealers over the weekend. They all have the 2014 Kia Soul. The dealer that offered us the lowest price, the car was an ugly brown and it didn't appeal to us at all. It had yellow specks in it and the brake lights needed fixing. We saw a green one but we weren't crazy about that color either. But the car had been well taken care of. It was clean inside and out. My husband couldn't get the man to come down to the price we wanted to pay. The difference in the prices of the two cars was $500. If the green is still there on Saturday, we may just go get it. We would rather pay $500 more than settle for the brown car. We went to one dealer who had a gray one, and the tires were almost bald. He advertised a lower price than the other two dealers but his out the door price was crazy. I was wondering how he got there. My husband said he didn't need to know. We just left. So, on Saturday after going to these dealers, my husband wanted to stop at Del Taco. I don't eat Mexican Food period. But to my surprise they had a double cheese burger. So I got that without the cheese, fries, and a soda, which I don't usually drink. My husband had fish Tacos and some other kind of Taco and fries and soda. And yes, I got the donut bites. I had been doing good with my eating during the week. But to my surprise I didn't go up after having that burger. I guess all of the activity of Saturday and Sunday helped. This week I purposely took less food to work than I did last week. And today I forgot my snacks, pistachios. But I'm finding I don't need them. I also walk at work and walk with my husband when I get home. Except for yesterday. Yesterday we attacked the garage again. We are trying to get rid of some junk, so we will have a place to store the car dolly. We are planning to get one that stands up. The car will be kept at my mom's house until we get the garage cleared out, which will be awhile, I'm sure. Anyway I have come down on the scale a little bit and I'm trying to get back into weight loss mode. We are getting ready to go to the family reunion in Texas and I am told it is hot out there. I'm not going shopping for any more summer clothes, so I need to shed a few pounds so my clothes will look decent.

Current Weight: 250.4

I agree that avoiding Mexican food really helps. Only occasionally will I plan in a taco.

Great choice on the fast food lunch. If you are in the right mindset the weight is easier to drop.
Best of wishes on finding a car you like!

Good luck with the car shopping. I hope it all works out. Definitely not one of my favorite things to do, but it will be nice for you to have when you take the RV out.

You'll get those pounds off now that you're in weight loss mode.

I think you're the first person I've met that does not eat any Mexican food! I say that because I don't either! I'm super picky.

Good luck on your car selection. I can relate on the temptations of food choices when we are out for fast food. You ate wisely and made a better choice..... emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

We’ve also been looking for a car to tow. We had an older Jeep Liberty that was nice but my husband traded it and his other car in on s new truck. It’s VERY hard to find a good used car that you like! It seems to me that motor homes always need something 😂
