I made another blog entry about this concept before, but I find myself using it often, every day.
I have begun to say my excuses out loud to myself.
Sounds a little weird, right? But I have found it to be incredibly helpful.
I don’t feel like going to the gym today because it’s raining outside...
I am hungry and have all the food in my fridge to make a delicious meal that fits in my meal plan, but I don’t feel like cooking...
Well, I slipped up and ate something “bad”, I may as well eat whatever I want today and get back on track tomorrow (or Monday!)
Is this you too? Do you come up with excuses and reasons not to go? Now, I’m a huge advocate for listening to our bodies and knowing when to push ourselves and when to rest.
Maybe saying your excuses out loud will allow you to see when you are honoring your body vs when you are making a silly excuse.
