Two More Hikes! And ink brush painting
Tuesday, June 11, 2019
I enjoyed two more beautiful hikes. The first hike was on the Round Mountain trail in the Ochoco Mountains. I love the Ochocos Mountains. They features huge Ponderosa pine trees, and the terrain is grassy green and lush.
Early wildflowers were blooming along the trail.
Purple and yellow wood violets
These bluebells remind me of a butterfly wing
Today I hiked at Riley Ranch, which is a nature preserve here in Bend OR. I have hiked here many times, but today I hiked a new section of the trail .Views of the mountains were great along the top portion of the trail.
Mt Bachelor and Tumalo Mountain
South and Middle Sister
The lower portion of the trail is along the Deschutes River.
Arrowleaf Balsamroot above the river.
These yellow irises along the river are an invasive species. They are so pretty; but they crowd out native reeds and plants.
Finally, I am sharing a couple of paintings from my recent Pen and Ink and Watercolor painting class. The focus of the instructor was on landscapes -- and you can probably tell I love landscapes!!! Here is are a couple of my paintings from the class. (We did several of them with pen and ink and waterbrush). I will never be a professional painter, but I had fun!
