Goals & Gratitude 6/10/19

Monday, June 10, 2019

I have been reading a little more about intermittent fasting and have decided that I am going to try it starting tonight. I am going to eat between 12 pm and 9 pm, then stop. I know I will be hungry tonight, but I just have to power through it. We'll see how it goes. I planned out all my meals today and stayed well within my calorie range. I just need to keep it up and quit the night time eating. I am up nearly a pound this week compared to last week, unfortunately. Not the best way to start off the summer Biggest Loser challenge! Hopefully I will be down a little by Wednesday, which is our weigh-in day, so I won't be up as much overall. I did good with exercising today. I did 65 minutes on the stationary bike plus about 20 minutes of strength training. I did an experiment on the bike today. Usually I read on my e-reader, and I find the time flies. But I had started listening to a new book in the morning and wanted to listen to that on the bike, so I did. I found I went significantly slower on the bike, by about 2 mph slower actually! So I have decided that I will save the audio books for the treadmill and read on my e-reader on the bike. Hopefully I will get my speed back up the next time I do the bike again.

It's really hot here. It's 6 PM and it's 100 degrees. The high was 103 today. So not a day for walking outside, unless you want to do it at 8 or 9 PM at night, which I didn't want to do today. It's supposed to be that hot through Wednesday, and then the temperature is supposed to drop for the rest of the week. Hopefully I will be able to go for walks in the evening towards the end of the week then.

I procrastinated about doing my Cost Accounting homework this morning and went to the gym instead, but when I got home, I said to myself that I just had to sit down and do it. I logged in and we only had 7 problems this week (usually we have 10 or 11). I did 5 in just over a half hour, which I think is the fastest I have gotten through the homework so far. I have two left to do tomorrow, and then the quiz tomorrow. On Wednesday I will prepare for the final by reviewing the answers to the quizzes and going through the PowerPoints and homework problems, and then on Thursday I'll take the actual final. That will give me three days off from school to relax. I start summer school next Monday, but I am not worried about it. I am taking Business Law and Intro. to Organizational Management online with the community college. The community college classes are much easier than the university accounting classes I am taking. They are mostly reading and quizzes, and I look forward to them because I learn so much new information. I have those for a month before I start anything else.

Tomorrow's Goals:
1) Finish the Ch. 15 assignments for Cost Accounting.
2) Go to the gym for cardio.
3) Do some strength training.

Today I'm Grateful For...
1) That I am enjoying going to the gym so much. I have been paying for it for months but not using it. Now that I am I find that I like it a lot more than I thought I would. My next task is to be brave enough to go over to the weight machines and try a few. I get intimidated by all the athletic people working on them.
2) That I have excellent air conditioning in both my living room and bedroom. I will be staying cool this summer.
3) I'm having a hard time thinking of a third thing, but I will say my kitties. They put up with me serving their meals late when I forget to!
