Pre-race glimpse of sunrise at Lake Hollingsworth:

Sunrise and sunrise reflection through race banner:

Watermelon volunteers. It was cool and delicious!

Finisher's medal:

Glad I ran this morning, my first race in the 70-74 year old age group. There were 913 finishers and I was number 493, far from last and second in my age group. Two more races in this series concluding August 10th. It was awfully warm (Athlinks has it listed as 88 degrees, but I don't think it was that hot) and humid, and it was overcast so no blazing sun to deal with, just a lot of sweat! Truly, the watermelon tasted crisp, juicy, sweet, and refreshing. So appreciate all the volunteers who make this such a great race.

Any day I can run is a blessed day indeed!
