Getting it together

Today is the last day of school for my kids and they are so excited, except the expectations they have to do daily before they can do anything for the day. They have a list of chores and activities, like reading, before they are allowed to play on their phones, game systems, play outside, etc. They don't like that idea, but that's what must be done. BUT THE NUMBER ONE RULE: they must take 30 minutes a day, TOGETHER, and do an exercise routine. It is requested that they do this before starting their chores. My oldest, 12 yr, says he is ok with this because it makes him feel energized for the day. So hopefully he will still feel the same by the end of the month. This is all in hopes that I can keep my kids active while we are working and they are staying healthy. They will be with my dad, who isn't the best mentor when it comes to eating right and exercising, so I do worry a little bit about that. Dad tends to let the kids do what they want, because he is the grandpa. Oh well, I guess as long as they are having fun that is all that matters, right??!!
As for me I have been doing much better in making sure I am sticking with my routine everyday. I have lost 3 pounds so far since resetting, AGAIN. I hate when life gets in the way of my routine, because it really throws it off and I have the hardest time getting back on track. But this time I am making sure that I have no excuse, I need to just do it, even if it is just a little 10 minute work out, it's better then nothing at all and it keeps me motivated. needing to feel better about myself and not focus on the bad. I've been stuck in a rut since my mom passed and it has been really hard to stay focused and willing to do exercise. But I will get there.
