just sayin’ … askin’

Wednesday, June 05, 2019

Day 4 … oh, if this headache would just … float away. Why, oh, why, do I do this to myself … I ask*. The “detoxing” of allllll the … crap I ate “getting ready to start over”. More about that … later.

Arrrrrrgh. On to more pleasant things …

Hubby and I kenneled our 2 fur babies in Galveston before boarding the ship for our Caribbean cruise. The kennel had wild … peacocks … no kidding. The owner was more comfortable with the animals than with … people. I asked* him questions for him to only look at his feet and mumble.

We only had 1 snafu getting on the ship … where the heck does one actually leave your luggage for loading??? Superman hubby carried everything through alllllll the check points and then right on to the ship. Gotta love him. We asked* the right questions of … where do we leave our stuff??? Only to be told … keep moving, keep moving. Hmmm???

Of course, I set off all the alarms with my bionic knees. They asked* me to raise my shorts to show off the scars at one check point.

Day 1 was all about getting on the ship and figuring out the lay of the land … I mean ship.

The dining room was first on the list for lunch. OH, MY GOODNESS!!! The amount of food was … mind boggling. And they did it allllllll over again at supper.

When we were allowed … we, I mean hubby … took all stuff to our stateroom. WOW. We had adjoining rooms with DS and family and a huge window to look out of. The room was more spacious then our 22-foot travel trailer!!!

We chose to watch the ship pull away from port and got to watch the dolphins lead us out of the bay. I was asked* to take different folks pictures doing the … “Titanic out stretch” at the bow. One non-English speaking lady just kept repeating … Leonardo, Leonardo.

The g-kids asked* to play putt-putt.

I asked* to watch the sunset standing at the stern. And we alllll ooohhed and aaahhed.

The grown kids asked* if we would watch the g-kids that night to go do “adult stuff”.

Hubby asked* me numerous times if I was content.

Oh, yes beloved hubby. Oh, yes!!!

How about you I ask* … are you content Sparkers???

What does that mean to you … I ask*.

What makes you … content???

Sounds wonderful, glad you are having a great time and are content. I replied to the Body Coach when he asked what was one thing we were Super grateful for today? And I answered my Health and my Family, guess I didn't understand what 'one' meant. Very content with my Aqua class today, seeing my friend this afternoon and life in general!

Wow, that cabin sounds so spacious and nice. Where did you cruise and what ship/line? We have cruised many times and I agree the food is plentiful and hard to resist. We are taking a Viking river cruise this Fall in China. That will be a first for us and I'm excited! Love how you got to share it all with family.

Flowers, nature, the sky, being around children or good friends. Remembering to go back to my anti-inflammation diet and being blissfully pain free. Good question: i have to make it a point to spend more time purposely doing things that make me content.
Have a great time with hubby and family.

    Si, sono contento.

("Yes, I am content", in probably poor Italian.)

To me, content is a relaxed state, no obligations or pressure. It's being in the moment and savoring it. It is pain-free. Often it involves pets or other people who are also content. No one is making demands. We have what we need.

Yep, moments of contentment, and the work that leads to those moments of contentment... makes for a life of mastery, for me.
