recommitment

Tuesday, May 28, 2019

so once again im trying to recommit myself to being healthy? How many times have i done this inthe last 10 years or so probably 20 (or more) might as well be a billion. Almost every day I wake up saying God please help me stay away from sweets today then I go to work and the night shift has made something irresistable and my mouth waters and its game over. Ill try again tommorow. I realize I cant give up all sweets so do I cut the portion in half eat smaller bites? Or do I bring something to replace the sweetness? Something thats still a work in progress. Another thing that is a work in progress working out. Since we moved here and I started this new job everythings changed. Different hours, days ,working weekends. Hard to get into a routine. But if I can routinely find a half hour a day to nap why cant I to work out? get some activity! So heres what my recommitment is:

1) 30 min of cardio/activity three times a week

2) count calories 1400- 1600 a day (this worked so wellfor me in the past

3) 48 to 64 ounces of water a day Im really going to try (man im peeing alot today major down side when youre busy)

4) 30 min of me time a day because I believe this is super important

so this is my recommitent to myself

Good for you. Everyone needs to step back, see where they were, where they ar at and where they want to go. Than make goals that will get you there.

    Good luck!

It's hard to fit in exercise when your schedule isn't the same. It's also stressful and your body doesn't know whether it's coming or going. I think your recommitment goals are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely). Your cardio could be anything from walking, playing with the grandkids, dancing to music. Maybe you could go for a walk in the park with the grandkids or by yourself for your "me time" or swing on the swing set. It might be easier if you try doing just 10 minutes 3 times a day. Good luck limiting the sweets! You might have the right idea to bring your own snacks that are healthy or at least healthier (maybe some cut up fruit or turkey jerky). I know you can and will figure it out! emoticon

Working the night shift just messes everything up. Your body clock is just thrown out of whack.
    I like your recommitment goals!
    Good luck!

Before I retired, I had a real hard time fitting in regular exercise - also stress from work had me doing a lot of emotional eating. I think you have the right idea tracking your food and water and committing tho 3 days of cardio. Maybe you can find a me time activity that also burns calories! Good luck with limiting those sweets!
