For As Long As I Can

Sunday, May 26, 2019

My plan is to do the most I can do for as long as I can. Now I need to change that sentiment into specific goals I can work on. I am looking for a new way to strengthen my motivation!

    Be kind to yourself
Treat yourself like you would your child, if your child were in your situation
    One day at a time

Oops, I thought I was writing this to ButtonPopper's blog, but I think it fits for you too.
When I am impatient with myself or thinking what I should do to remedy my current situation, my go-to action is

Treat yourself like you would your child, if your child were in your situation

You’ve got this! Figuring out specific strategies and sticking to them is something you’re very good at doing!

You are on the same page as me Marsha. As my condition worsens I have to figure out how to keep going as its now painful to do most movements including just walking. But it is still better to move than to just sit. I miss the more vigorous exercise I used to do, especially boxercise. The only goal I can do is try to keep my aerobic conditioning as good as possible. You still have the motivation to be the best you can be in your age category in races. You do well to still be able to be competitive..

Quality of life... that's what it's all about. The most I can for as long as I can sounds like a great starting point for designing that quality of life... just have to fill in the details, right?
