Hello everyone,

I've been long absent and have (backslid?) into my old bad habits for quite some time now. On the negative side, I fear that I have regained all the way back up into the 180's - over 40 lbs. over my "normal" BMI goal to get below 24.9. I need to weigh 142 lbs. or less to get there, because my height is only 5 feet, 3.5 inches. On the positive side, I know what I need to do and how to do it, because I've done it before and I WILL do it again! I believe I have the right mindset to proceed, even if "life gets in the way" (as is well known it always does)!

Sure, it's a LONNNNNG journey back to where I need to be in mind, spirit AND body, but I need to remember that on February 29, 2008 I weighed 217! (Yeah, over eleven years ago!) Guess what? 2020 will be a leap year too! I definitely want to be back at my goal by then, but hopefully before!

This week will be a total "detox" for me. Time to get rid of unhealthy thoughts, unhealthy food and beverages, unhealthy "sloth", shall we say? ALL that! Next Sunday will be Mother's Day, and I will see my son. I want to feel much better by then, and I WILL! I will post a blog every day (not as long as this one) in order to stay mindful of my ambition to "clean up my act" and embark on this latest "road to recovery", in many more ways than one!

It's a bit tough for me because I live alone and don't have much of a "support network", but that's no excuse. I need to do this for myself.

This Monday I will have completed ten weeks at my new job. I feel quite "settled in" now, and I really like the role and the people I administratively support as well as the company and its leadership. I am so grateful every day I'm there and I hope to stay there for a very long time!

I have made an appointment for a complete physical on June 6th. This company has an incentive program that for participants who are and continue to be successful in their efforts to get healthier, their health insurance premiums decrease incrementally. I definitely want "IN" on that! They order all kinds of tests which are 90 percent covered and provide a benchmark by which future results are measured. You check in with a counselor every so often, etc. (I forget exactly how it goes) but I'm definitely ON BOARD!

I hope to see a number below 180 on Mother's Day, but even if I don't, I will just hang in there and keep going! I plan to start regular activity again beginning tomorrow. I will report my stats on the second Sunday of each month.

    You know I am the opposite. I know if I didn't have to fix hubby 3 meals a day I would be a lot thinner, as I usually don't get hungry and I eat cause hubby eats. But there is no way I am getting rid of him, he is my life, so guess I will never be where I want. But I am learn that I can fix him meals and not eat unless I am actually hungry. I like the fasting, and a 18 to 20 hour fast is so easy. Could go the whole 24 but I take meds and have to eat.
