15 minutes left, not doing another thing...

Wednesday, April 24, 2019

Very busy day/work at home day. Got locked out of my work account today and had to wait for an Administrative angel to extend their halo in my direction so I could get back in. Plus complex issues to deal with, lots of work volume.

I'm seeing the amount of snacks I'm logging decrease by half on some days. Still find it a challenge to drink all that water. I've always found that if I "go on a diet" I set myself up for a fall. A binge. So I have to tread gently.

Reading or listening to: Ocean Robbins' "30 Day Food Revolution" and Neal Barnard's "Vegan Starter Kit". Also listening to a novel by Hernan Diez: "In the Distance". My husband has been raving about this book. He reads a little each day at lunchtime in his Kindle. It's about a 19th century young Swedish immigrant separated from his brother. He travels across America to try and find him. Is author's first novel, and up for a Pulitzer.

I have to listen to books because once I am done with kitchen duties at night our cat demands attention. Or something else does. Now I understand why my mother didn't read, and this shocked me as a kid. I love to read. Thank God for audio books!

My friend had to drive all over 3 or 4 counties for her job (sales or fixes) and she listened to audio books too. My Dad was a truck driver cross-country for awhile; I don't know if he did that though.

I have to have my 30 minute read every day, before dinner with a real book and cat banished from my lap. Then I read again at bedtime, helps me fall asleep quickly. Good work on the snacking and keep pushing the water!

I never had time to read much after I married 35 years ago. Prior to that it was definitely my hobby. I do love to drink water. Other than coffee, I rarely have any other drink - other than herbal tea.

The book your DH is talking about sounds really good!

I don't "go on a diet" either. What I eat is my diet, LOL. emoticon emoticon
