"Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you." (Mary Kay Ash)
Hello, my lovely friends!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We had a nice and quiet Easter with a couple of friends. I’m trying to show my Mom that we can still enjoy our holidays even if it’s not the way it used to be. We used to have big family get together with a huge potluck and lots and lots of family members. Through the years things changed and it became smaller and smaller. Then it was the eight of us, then seven and now it has become the two of us. One of my girlfriends came over with her Mom, sister, and brother. It was so nice to get together because everyone made something. My Mom had a good time.
I did make an Easter basket for the three of us. I put the bath loofa in my basket and Scooter thought it was a toy for him and kept trying to get it. He really enjoyed the day. I’m not sure if he has figured out what happens at holidays. Bella knew when we would cook all day and I would set the dining room table that something special was going to happen, but Scooter hasn’t figured that out.
My Mom’s birthday was yesterday and she turned 72. I know one of you, I believe Kathy asked about her name. I don’t think I ever said, her name is Diana. I know I told you my Dad’s was Robert and you know my sister is Renee’. I made her a lemon cake because that’s her favorite. I bought her some DVD movies because she loves her movies. She was sad at times and missing my Dad. She mentioned that in three weeks she has lived longer than my Dad. He was 72 when he passed and only lived three weeks after his birthday.
Tomorrow my Mom is going to meet with her doctor’s. She has this meeting once a year and it lasts for about two hours. I went with her once and she was there for about three hours. I have a little tote bag with my tablet and a few other things. I’m hoping I can write a few blogs for the coming week while I’m there. I started taking my diabetic medicine and got my blood monitor. I’m doing pretty good. I test my blood in the morning, before dinner and before going to bed. I’ve been around 120 except for Easter. I have an appointment with a diabetic nurse to talk about things and what the game plan is.
A good start for the week ahead. Let’s make good choices!
