Let the pains begin

Actually, my knee is mostly behaving right now. I still take an ibuprofen before playing anything, but I've gone without a knee brace the last couple of pickleball sessions, and the knee is ok. Of course, there's that other side of the coin, where the dreaded elbow is making some noise, in the form of a twinging bicep, so that's something to keep an eye on. I'd rather not go back to that 30 degree range of motion I experienced last summer. Maybe it's time to start playing with the colored sponges to try and strengthen the bits and pieces of the elbow.
Other than that, I'm feeling pretty darn ok. Getting to play out in the sunshine, and yes, warmth, was awesome, and I'm looking forward to more of that in the summer, as well as getting out to nearby places where pickleball is being played and meeting more folks. Previously, I'd just played locally to Ann Arbor, but in that tournament I played on the previous weekend, I'd put faces to some names I'd heard before, and am kind of feeling like I need to expand the circle of people I play with. A 22 minute drive to play isn't a big burden, especially when one of the usual summer spots is 15 minutes away on the west side of Ann Arbor, anyway.
I may or may not have dropped a few ounces with the long sessions on Thursday, Friday and Sunday, though I'm waiting until Wednesday to weigh in. I've not been eating badly in the past week, although I've got a highly social weekend, and really, week coming up, so I'll have to keep on the exercise train. Really do need to start doing things other than pickleball, though, just in case the elbow or the knee or some other joint decides to rebel, and I find myself unable to play. Or, you know, for that time period when I wander off to Canada. Looking back at the weight reports over the past couple of years, there have been massive spikes (like 10 pound spikes) during the periods I've gone out for 2 or 3 week work trips, and I really need to guard against doing that to myself again.
I'm going to have to go get a TB test done sometime soon, maybe I'll jam that into...well, I was going to say an overscheduled day Tuesday, but really, I've got nothing on the calendar except for watching a soccer game. I think I'll be able to get that accomplished!
