It's been a month and I've lost a whole pound. One. 1 measly pound. So...what I'm doing isn't working. So I gotta change it up. But what am I supposed to change? I'm so frustrated that I've cried over this twice and have even thought about smoking again (but I'm not going to). But I am desperate. Hydroxycut is sounding pretty good right now. But then, so are a lot of other bad ideas.

Ooooh, I've been there and am there! Hugs and support coming your way.

SP has tons of good advice, but maybe an in-person meeting would be good right now? Do you have health insurance? Can you see a dietician who can take time to go over what you're doing in detail? An hour with a personal trainer might help, too. The ones at the YMCA are pretty reasonable.

Please be as gentle with you as you can. You are still here and still making life changes!

Don’t stress. Two things about women’s bodies. We should wait slower and sometimes our weight gain is muscle mass. Give yourself some time. It’ll happen

Relax! Take deep breaths! Now, our bodies do NOT always do what you think they should for any number of reasons. When I started out, it took 6 weeks to see ANY loss and then over the next three weeks, I lost 10, 8, and 12 pounds. The first thing to do is check your portion sizes - actually weigh and measure them. Next, switch things up by eating near the bottom of your calorie range one day and closer to the top the next, switching around can rev up your metabolism a bit. Switch, what you do up and stay within your calorie ranges but change up what and how much you eat within those ranges, If you are doing what you are supposed to do, you will eventually lose. Use other measures to determine our progress besides the scale. How clothes fit, how you feel, how much energy you have, etc. Trust yourself!
