It's not what the scale says - 8 Months AF
Thursday, April 11, 2019
I wasn't at home this morning as I stayed in the city as a treat - in a hotel room but today is my 8 month AF (alcohol free) milestone. So the celebration and victory is a NSV ... and one that is worth so much more to me than anything else!
You see - for many years I struggled with trying longer periods of abstinence and moderating - but I found myself cycling from feeling great AF and losing weight - to re-indulging and re-gaining weight.
On August 12, 2018 - as I celebrated my 52nd birthday (Sept 3) - I decided I was done for good. After experimenting with booze at the early age of 12 - 40 years of it being a part of my life was enough.
Today I choose HEALTH above all and while food may still be a struggle at times as a coping mechanism - the clarity I have without alcohol in my life leaves me feeling ever so confident that I can handle ANYTHING!
I'm proud to share this here with all of my SP friends who have watched my journey since I started way back in 2006!
I now share more frequently via my public Facebook page and blog about my journey relative to my #LoseDaBooze journey here: www.losedabooze.com
But I always come back here and ever so grateful for the community here - including our amazing Cutting Down the Booze (Calories) team here too!
So remember - CELEBRATE those Non-Scale Victories!! They are worth their weight in GOLD!! Cheers SPeeps!!
