So our weekend plans were changed. I received a call on Friday saying that my brother-in-law (the one we were throwing an 80th birthday party for) was in the ICU. He's ok now - but they had to keep him in for a couple of days for observartion to make sure all was good (he had a ruptured blood vessel in his stomach and was bleeding internally - they went in to stop the bleeding). My sister had been concerned about his health even when we visited at Christmas.

So since he was in hospital and while they still had to have the party as many had traveled for it and there was tons of food - I opeted not to go. I may go visit when it's not a back and forth thing as they live about 5.5 hours away.

This was yet another affirmation of how we must make the most of each day. I had been slacking on my workouts as I was feeling the effects from a double workout I did on Tuesday but I'm starting fresh this morning and jumping back in!

I know that being healthy is truly a gift so I must take care of myself and my body by treating it well so it will continue to function optimally. This binge eating is not serving me or my body. I feel bloated and gross when I binge eat. I was so upset yesterday trying on bras that don't fit properly ... either too big in the cup or to small around the rib cage.

I did some grocery shopping yesterday and today will be food prep day. I'm going to keep things as simple as can be to make it successful (for me that's what works best and repitition in some meals make it easier - like having my daily morning Shakeology - which helps keep me regular with the probiotics in there as well as the other dense nutrition it gives me to kick start the day.

Today is dedicated to my health ... and with this in mind all of my activities will serve towards feeding my mind, body and soul with what it craves... and that is healthy sustenance!

    was a phrase that touched me a while back ..
    did it stick ..
    well no
    but the chips and cheezies did
    frustrating ..
    you bet ..
    I most certainly can get on my own nerves ..
    yet today I will tenderly kindly guide me back ..
    I am the same .. in regards to simple meal plans that are whole and real foods ..
    shakes alway work well for me too
    I add chia , fruit .. and ground flax .. maybe hemp seeds and spinach to whip up in my Nynja ..
    usually have to eat it with a spoon ... followed by at least 16 oz of water ..
    full and satisfied for hours ..
    perhaps I should have shakes for my evening meal for a week or so to get rid of the evening munchies .. Netflix and my husbands " stash" of treats in his fridge suck me in every time .. mindless tv .. mindless eating ..
    so there I have solved my own dilemma ..
    shakes for my evening meal ... and not cross the line in the basement .. I will stay on my side where my exercise equipment is set up .. my books .. crafts and music .. being more mindful of every minute .. not taking life for granted ..
    somewhere in the back of my noodle is this feeling of " overwhelmed " .. I'm sure its because I make life more confusing than it needs to be ..
    a list of rules ... new habits to incorporate into my routine ..
    wow ..

    I'm with you a million percent .. keep life simple yet fun ..

    shake in the morning
    grain bowls with veggies and nuts for lunch ( homemade dressings ) at work
    shake for my evening meal ..
    snacks of cut up veggies .. fruit .. tea tea tea ..
    5 days should reboot

    therefore we surly should make ourselves and our health our first priority ..
