No, not July 4th...but RETIREMENT arrives at the end of April!
The cool thing I noticed was that the VERY NEXT DAY following my last day of work, our local urban gardens group holds a luncheon for the needy at a church and they need volunteers. Who could ask for a better way to kick off my retirement?!?
This month, however, I'm crazy-busy wrapping up my work threads.
Going to continue my private practice part-time, but opening up my life to grow a veggie garden, ride my bike more often and volunteer with a local bicycle organization that helps underprivileged kids learn how to refurbish bicycles to make them look like new so they can "earn" themselves a like-new bike.
Plus TRAVEL more! Heading to Colorado in May, Florida in June, Michigan early July and hoping to ride the Five Hundred Miles Across NY end of July
I've been holding steady with my loss, fluctuating between 210-220. My success has been mostly due to being very careful with food. My workouts have taken a hit and I'm not as fit as I would like to be, but certainly plan to change that with my free time opening up in retirement.
I'll never be a calorie counter, but always very careful to avoid all processed carbs. Lately I've been expanding my "experiments" with intermittent and full-out fasting. Just set a record with an 80 hour fast this past week when I didn't like the number I saw on the scale after my 36 hour fast (218#), after another 24 hours I hadn't lost a single POUND so I threw another 24 hours on the hopper and BOOM, there goes 5 pounds down to 213. It pays to OUT-STUBBORN those pounds, woo-hoo!
THERE: now I'm ready for the week ahead! LOL.
Life is so wonderful and my gratitude just keeps flowing!
Off to my 2nd ride of the season with my bike club!
Viva la SPARK!
PS...this April marks my 12th year with our wonderful SparkFamily! Thank you everyone for sharing your SPARK!
