ZigZag Calorie Cycling-Anyone heard of it?

This was a new one for me! I had not heard of this before. The theory is that to avoid hitting plateaus and to avoid your body getting used to a specific amount of calories per day, you vary your calories each day but over the entire week they add up to the same total if you had eaten the same number per day. It also allows for days where your calorie allowance can be higher so you can enjoy a small treat or something, but of course then the next day will have a lower calorie allowance. Difficulty is that the SparkPeople program isn’t set up for this and gives you the same calorie allowance per day. I copied the charts to a document on my iPhone and check it each day for my calorie allowance for the day. And stick to that in my food log. I’ve only been doing this for a few days so I’ll report back on how well it works!
